The design element/ principal used in this shot is balance. The lighting and space of the image are balanced perfectly, if you were to split the image you would almost identical images aside from the differences in the bull dogs profile. It shows her just before she is about to experience her first bath. As the rest of the images are her in the bath, this is an important first impression.
Here I really focused on the different textures.  This is the bath filling of course, but it actually was exciting to the bull dog, in the video version you can hear her barking at the bath tub.
She is being lowered into the bath as she refused to get in herself. I wanted to reveal the principal of unity as she is clinging to her owner, in genuine fear she shows how she actually loves her owner.
After spending a few moments in the bath she is now enjoying it, starting to look around. Using emphasis as the principle of the image, the focus being on her soggy fur, showing she might by uncomfortable but she is learning to deal with it.
Time for the soap! clearly she doesn't like change, her sad face and whimpering says it all. Blurry as it is the image was too cute to discard. Her shaky paws were stomping in the water as she became determined to escape.
Her is another bark attack, an attempt to plea with her owner to let her free, though it will not work. Using the element of space I tried to show how little she is, she clearly is feeling small in this moment as she is bullied a little into staying where she doesn't want to be.
Feeling defeated she the water fall from her head. Again I know the image is blurry as I was using a low shutter speed but it's just too cute.
Curiosity strikes her. Accepting her defeat she begins to explor her new surroundings. She was mesmerized by the facet, seeing how the water came out was awe inspiring to her, it opened her eyes to a new world.
Now drying off she seems to have enjoyed it. again I wanted to show the element of space and reveal how cute and little she is. at only a few months old she is a small bull dog, but her personality is very loud and large. In this shot she is about to roll over and let her owner rub her belly.
Bath time over! Now she is dry and the belly rubbing is over we are back where we started, with a cranky bull dog. She is about to start barking at my camera, afraid another bath might take place I presume. Her cute eyes and high bark is echoing through the bathroom while she posses for a quick shot. I used High-Key Lighting during her, opening the window to let in the sun.
So, this series of photos is capturing the process of bathing a bulldog. It is basically life from her eye's. A simple project I know but I wanted to capture the innocence of animals. How simple creatures truly enjoy simple things. Each picture reveals the contrast in emotion she feels the back and forth nature of animals is reminiscent of people. Tell me what you think, are the pictures revealing what I want?
